Introduction

This WebQuest is created as part of a cooperative learning assignment among students on the Bachelor of Business Studies BBS (Hons) level 8 undergraduate 4 year degree. This is a mixed ability class.

The WebQuest was created to help students explain the process of developing a new fresh or frozen food product (suitable for diabetics) and to develop a marketing plan for this product for the Irish market. The task is used as a continuous assessment for the Introduction to Marketing module. The task is worth 50% of the overall assessment for this module. The marketing plan is worth 30% and the oral presentation is worth 20%.

Students/Learners

The WebQuest was devised on level 8 (Hons degree) enterprise, business, research data, information and knowledge. This WebQuest does not require a prerequisite to complete the task. There is a varied mix of students, adult and the 18-22 year olds, means some students will complete this task with industry experience, different cultural backgrounds, skills and knowledge. It is hoped, that these factors will improve the learning experience for all students completing this Introduction to Marketing module.
