What does it take to be A Superhero?

You will be assigned to a group.  You and your partners will be comparing and contrasting the characteristics and powers of superheroes.  Each of you will have a job.  The group will need s to look for ways to compare (how things are alike) and (how things are different).  Together you will work to complete the following tasks:

  

1.  Class activity – using whiteboard ( HOOK).  Superhero School Reading.   http://www.britishcouncil.org/kids-stories-superhero-high.htm  

 

2.  Students research – work on task sheets   (Guided Questions, Traits from Books, Favorite Superheroes,  Exploring Superheroes, My favorite Superhero)  see websites below

Choose two superheroes from popular culture texts and two superheroes from books. Then decide which two perspectives you’d like to use to explore them.
