This WebQuest was designed to supplement a curriculum in painting, photography, and print making.
I set it up to be worked on individually, but kids could easily partner up as well.
Visual literacy is essential for today's students and emerging artists.  The pedagogical emphasis on critical thinking, analysis, and comprehension extends past general curriculums and into art colleges.
Conceptual thinking and philosophy are integral in providing the basis for new ideas and art forms.  It is my conviction that today's teenagers need as much art history and critical practice as actual art making practice.  The responsibility lies with the teacher in implementing progressive and experiential based art learning.  Our enthusiasm is only limited by our own inhibitions.  The best teachers are the ones who take chances and never lose sight of the "prize"--inspiring kids to reach beyond themselves.
