When the Relatives Came...

I just love a good book and Cynthia Rylant makes reading even more fun with her children's books filled with wonderful stories about family. The Relatives Came is a great book to do these activities with. Other books of hers would also be great to use, as she covers topics that children love - family, friends, and animals! I have included a link to her website below so you can check out her other children's books. They are all amazing!

This Webquest was made to help teachers bring fun and exciting activities to their students. There are a lot of students who don't like to read. Maybe being part of one of these activities will bring out the "need" to explore further into reading, writing, illustrating, directing, or acting. Maybe their interests in reading will increase?

These activities can enhance a child's attributes or help draw them out of their shell. Students who like being in the background, are also given opportunities to participate, but in a low key way. e.g. drawing, writing, etc.  The student's who thrive on the dramatics, will love to act in the play. The students who love to invent and evolve will love directing. This lesson plan has a part for every student to participate in.
