Nutritional Sports

Process

 

 

Lead Sports Scientist:

 

  1. Research the rules of your athlete's sport
  2. Find the parts of the body that are used most in the sport. 
  3. Decide which parts of the body will be necessary to improve so that the athlete can improve his/her performance. 
  4. Create or build a model(s) that shows the parts of the body that need to be improved.  The model be used during the team's presentation, so it is important that all parts are labeled clearly.

Lead Doctor:

  1. Research information about the particular body systems used most when participating in the athlete's sport.
  2. Design a Power Point that informs the athlete about the body systems that need to be healthy and why it is important to keep them healthy.  The Power Point will be an important source of information during the team's presentation.

Lead Nutritionist:

  1. Design a diet for your athlete that will improve the health and performance of the body systems that are used when participating in the sport.
  2. Create a week-long nutrition plan on Excel for the athlete to follow.  The nutrition plan should include daily menus for each breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  It should also include the information about the proper serving size and how the foods will help improve the athlete's performance.
  3. Print a copy of the nutrition plan to give to the athlete. 
  4. Prepare a sample plate of one of the planned meals from the Nutrition Plan.  During the presentation, explain how each serving of food will help improve the athlete's performance.

Exercise Scientist:

  1. Prepare an Exercise Plan on Excel that will improve the performance of the athlete.  The Exercise plan should include the name of the exercise, how long to do the exercise, and how often to do the exercise.  The Exercise Plan should also include information on how each exercise will improve the athlete's performance.
  2. Print a copy of the Exercise Plan for the athlete.
  3. Demonstrate how to do at three of the exercises and explain how these exercises will improve the athlete's performance.  This will be done during the presentation.
