Grade 9 Biology, Ecology Unit Lesson #5: Science Experience Outside the Classroom, Mountsberg Conservation Area

 

Formative Evaluation:

• Students will be constantly formatively assessed by both the teacher and other chaperones to ensure their behavior is appropriate and responsible.
• Students will have their pre-activities (online pellet dissection, and mini research) marked for completion
• Students will also be marked for completion on their on trip assignment (recorded notes on an assigned species).

 

Summative Evaluation:

• Summative evaluation of the field trip will not occur, although a few questions related to the field trip may appear on the final unit test.  Students will be summatively evaluated on their post-field trip laboratory reports (see lesson #6: Examining Owl Pellets at http://zunal.com/webquest.php?w=59239).
