The First American Colonies

After all the realtors have presented their colonies I want you to reflect about the project in your social studies notebook.  Make sure to reflect on all of the following:

·        Do you think this project was effective on learning about the different colonies?  Why or why not?

·        Did you like learning about the colonies this way?  Why or why not?

·        Which resource did you find the most effective?  And which one did you like the best?  Why?

·        What parts of the project were effective?  Why?

·        What parts were confusing or should be changed?  Any suggestions on how to fix them?

·        After hearing about all of the colonies, where would you like to live?  Why?

If you found this to be an interesting way to learn or you would like to learn more, I would suggest you visit any of the websites that you already visited and learn about all 13 colonies.

This webquest focuses on the following six of the thirteen original colonies:  Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Georgia.  Through the use of the internet and books, researchers will learn why the colonies were founded, the geography and climate, what jobs were available and who could participate in the government.
