The Power of Persuasion: A Peek Into The Crucible and The Red Scare

Origin - This webquest is an adaptation of one used for a ninth grade classroom in Kentucky. That webquest focused more on the judgment of the witch trials, while I wanted to focus on more of the process. 

Objectives:

Students will become familiar with internet research and website navigation.

Students will take detailed notes from primary and secondary sources.

Students will create a persuasive letter from their notes and investigations.

Students will connect the past with the present in a reflection response.

Resources/Time requirements:

A computer lab with internet access or a mobile lab with internet capabilities is obviously a must for this project. 

4 days are recommended for this WebQuest: 

Day 1 - Introduction; begin investigating/notetaking

Day 2 - Finish investigation/notetaking & begin drafting papers

Day 3 - Write outline and start rough draft

Day 4 - Type letter (if not finished, finish for homework)
