Welcome to the near future. Along with flying cars, cures to every disease, robot assistants, and world peace, one of the greatest accomplishments of our era is the ability for easy and practical time travel between the present and the past. People, even students such as yourself, can now go back in time to learn firsthand what it was like to exist among greats like Socrates, Shakespeare and Mozart. However, our new program of time displacement also allows students to safely return to times of great conflict and upheaval to study the horrific and awesome events that have shaped our history.

Today's scheduled time trip returns us to a great conflict of the American Colonial period, the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Our time technicians will supply you with the appropriate costumes and some food with which to bargain in order to get yourselves some floor length skirts and stiff-collared shirts; it is up to you to return home at the end of your time trip to report your first hand findings. Good Luck, and remember you are stepping into the perspective of a community member in Salem.  People you know are being accused of practicing witchcraft, a crime punishable by death.  You are confused; will your family be accused next?  In order to save yourself, your family, and your friends, you must seek the governor's help.  You must gather the facts and write to him what is going on and whether the trials should continue or not.
