Coach Johnson's Physical Education Class

Teacher Page

This WebQuest is about designing a program to increase vertical and broad jump height. Using resistance exercises and plyometrics, the students will create an 8 week plan for their improvement. They will use 3 training sessions per week and break their plan into 2 4-week blocks. This will take a few hours for the students to actually complete on their own, so I would allow them about a week's notice before they will be required to turn it in.

Specifically,  I think it is important to engage your students interest in this task. Some students may not be interesting in this at all if they do not appreciate athletic endeavors or physical activity.

Standards

The Tennessee State Standards that are used are as follows. This was for a 12th Grade Physical Education Class.

F.P.A.2 - Participate in health-related fitness activities
F.P.A.4 - Participate in skill-related fitness activities
F.P.A.10 - Construct fitness goals
F.P.A.11 - Design a personal fitness plan based on the FITT principle

I would like to thank Dr. Spaulding and his class, (Teaching With Technology). It is because of this class that I learned how to make a WebQuest.
