PART 1 - RESEARCH
1. Get together with your team and talk about what you already know about the continent you will be researching. Make a list of your ideas to use as a starting point for your investigations.

2. Decide on roles for each of your team members. The roles are listed below. Remember, every job is important!

  • FACT FINDER – The Fact Finder is responsible for making sure we know some general facts about the continent before we get on the plane. The Fact Finder is also responsible for learning about the continent’s major landforms including: mountains, rivers, deserts, etc.
  • CULTURE CONNECTOR – The Culture Connector will help us make cultural connections by informing us about the people and their traditional food and clothing.
  • TOUR GUIDE – The Tour Guide will help make our trip exciting by informing us about the major landmarks we won’t want to miss and the animals we might see during our travels.

3. Begin your research by reading through the resources listed under your assigned continent below. Your teacher will provide you with a Travel Log to use as a guide. Take notes on all important and interesting information.

PART 2 –TRAVEL BROCHURE GROUP PROJECT

1. Once your research is complete, get together with your team and review all of your information together. Discuss and make any changes or corrections needed.

2. Your teacher will provide you with a blank Travel Brochure. Examine the Travel Brochure format with your group. Decide on the most important items for each category to include. You may not be able to include everything.

3. Use your notes to put the information into your own words and complete your brochure.

4. Check your work! Writing should be neat and in complete sentences with proper spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Illustrations should be neat and in color (crayons or colored pencils only please).

5. Make a plan to share your final brochure and practice your presentation. All group members should have a part in the presentation. Remember, your classmates are depending on you to teach them about your continent.

PART 3 – Continent Comparison
Use the information you’ve learned from your classmates’ presentations to compare the continent you studied with another continent.  Complete a Venn diagram to tell how the continents are alike and different.

Part 4 - Vote!

Vote for your top continent choice.  We will tally the votes and plan our amazing continent adventure!
