The process you will follow requires that you revisit and understand what is Social Studies; its interrelated disciplines; why it is interdisciplinary, and how sports feature every part of social studies in one way or another, and then apply that knowledge to integrate the subjects below.  Consider how your topic or theme can be used to show the links within and across learning areas.

The five interrelated disciplines are:

  1. Economics
  2. Religion
  3. Sociology
  4. Political Science
  5. Communication

You will have six activities to complete. The activities are:

  • webquest pre-test (to be done in class)
  • create a Photo Story or Power Point presentation
  • create a chart (s)
  • create an original poem, dance, skit etc
  • provide one multiple choice and short answer question for each subject area
  • provide a hard copy with references using the APA format
Visit the links provided to assist you in your presentation.

Use the following links to help you in preparing material for the hard copy:

After you have finalized your mini lessons integrating the five interrelated disciplines and Social Studies create either a Photo Story or Power Point presentation. Open the "Power Point Presentation download" found below. Build your Power Point using the example provided; add sound, clip art, pictures, transitions, etc... BE CREATIVE...USE YOUR SKILLS, but make it professional looking. Provide a hard copy and list your references in APA format.
