Welcome: Cellular Respiration Process Overview
Description: In this WebQuest the researcher will be able to understand how the bonds of food molecules and oxygen molecules are broken and new compounds are formed that can transport energy to muscles. Also learn why our muscles burn when they are overworked. HS-LS1-7 : Use a model to illustrate that cellular respiration is a chemical process whereby the bonds of food molecules and oxygen molecules are broken and the bonds in new compounds are formed resulting in a net transfer of energy.
Grade Level: 9-12
Curriculum: Science
Keywords: Eukaryotic cell, cellular respiration, aerobic respiration, electron transport chain, ATP (adenosine triphosphate), Krebs cycle.
