Grade: 11 Contemporary U.S. History, The Civil Rights Movement

Duration: approximately 4 weeks in a cyber school setting

Content

Teacher will teach the students about the Civil Rights Movement with the corresponding chapter in the students' text book. The WebQuest will be the final project which will show what students have learned through the chapter about the important people and events.

Objectives

Students will be able to identify good sources of information on the internet.

Students will be able to create a project, upon completion of the WebQuest, to show their knowledge of the Civil Rights Movement.

Procedures

1. The teacher will explain what a webquest is and what the students will be doing. The teacher will teach the students how to prepare a PowerPoint presentation.

2. The WebQuest is to run as a homework assignment.  The link will be embedded into the lesson.  Students will then complete the WebQuest and begin preparing their PowerPoint presentation.  The presentation is due prior to the chapter test.
