Business Etiquette: more than using the right silverware

Focus:
This WebQuest focuses on the proper manners and behavior in the business world.  The students will gain valuable insight into their own behaviors and be able to determine if they are demonstrating proper business etiquette.

 

Objectives/Goals:
I would recommend starting this project after an introduction to appropriate desktop publishing standards as well as appropriate presentation standards.  The students need to be efficient in the use of both word processing and presentation software.

Students will:

1. define proper business etiquette in the US
2. describe proper business etiquette in 3 other countries
3. demonstrate their organizational skills when preparing their finished products
4. relate their findings to the real world and their futures
5. create a finished product that can be published and presented to their class

 

Resources:
Prerequisite Skills: Comfort level with the Internet
Time Required: 3 days for research, 1 day for compilation of finished product and any presentation materials (such as poster, power point, etc.) and 1 day for presentations (depending upon the size of your class you may need more time for presentations)
Technology Needs/Materials Needed: Each student needs access to a computer, at least one of those must be Internet capable.  Each student needs access to a word processor or desktop publishing software as well as presentation software if they so choose.
