US Regions

Over a nine week period, your students will engage in exploring, synthesizing, and preparing materials to help each other apply their knowledge and 21^st century skills to prepare a presentation to teach others about the regions of the United States. In doing so, students will prepare themselves for success with standardized test for the 5^th grade curriculum which focuses on the 5 regions of the United States and their unique characteristics.

Standards

Social Studies:
Identify the 5 regions of the United States
Identify unique characteristics of each region
Identify states within the region
analyze information provided to determine regional location
Language Arts
Write a persuasive letter to meet grade level expectations
21st Century Standards
Use technology to enhance learning and preparing a PowerPoint presentation
Work Collaboratively with others
