US Regions

At the beginning of this quest, there were 4 goals that were listed as necessary components for successfully completing this unit of study.
Goals:

1.       Students will work collaboratively with 2-4 students to complete research on the five regions of the United States (Focusing on states, climate, landforms, culture, history, and economy) (Evaluated using a rubric)

2.       Students will compare and contrast;  then identify the different regions using the PowerPoint presentations as a study guide(Evaluated using a quiz)

3.       Students will present their group persuasive letter to the class. (Evaluated using a rubric) 

4.       Students will create a persuasive letter to convince their parent/guardian to move/go on vacation to a region of the United States. Then it will be sent home to see if they convinced their parent or guardian. (Evaluated using a rubric)

Students will be evaluated using the following guidelines:

1.       Weekly (9 total) grade for collaboration with team members using a rubric

2.       Group  PowerPoint presentation/persuasive letter graded using a rubric

3.       An individual persuasive letter using a rubric

4.       Quiz grade based on regions standards for the grade level- Quarterly assessment provided by the district
