Human Body Systems

This web quest is designed to explore the human body system in groups at the fifth grade level.   The project's purpose is to expand the knowledge presented in class about the human body systems.  Each of the resources involved with this project integrate various techniques for learning.The links There is also a couple with interactive activities which are short and can help the student fully understand their project.  Students are then to become the teachers and teach their peers the knowledge they need and the presentations will help facilitate the other systems if not covered well by their group mates.  Teachers will need to be actively involved to make sure the information passing between peers is accurate and appropriate.

This web quest fits with Michigan Department of Education Curriculum Grade Level content for Fifth Grade

L.OL.M.4 Animal Systems- Multicellular organisms may have specialized systems that perform functions which serve the needs of the organism.
L.OL.05.41 Identify the general purpose of selected animal systems (digestive, circulatory, respiratory, skeletal, muscular, nervous, excretory, and reproductive).
L.OL.05.42 Explain how animal systems (digestive, circulatory, respiratory, skeletal, muscular, nervous, excretory, and reproductive) work together to perform selected activities.

This Webquest expands students oral presentation skills and listening attentively skills as presented with the Language arts section.

This Web quest also follows the ISTE/ NETS standards for teachers number 2 design and develop digital age learning experiments and assesment

I am in the Graduate Teacher Certification for Elementary Education. I currently do not teach but hope to teach fourth or 5th grade.
