The Borders of Pennsylvania
Task
Our task today will be to investigate the border conflict between Pennsylvania and Maryland as a three person group.
- You will need to determine why there was a conflict, and who were the parties involved?
- What were the major disputes and claims for each side of the dispute.
- Next determine the settlement of the dispute? Do you agree with the it?
After your investigative research defining the border dispute, you will collaborate and discuss your research. Each person will pick a side, either Pennsylvania or Maryland, to defend that position in a class discussion.
The class, divided in two, will discuss whether the resulting solution was fair to one or both sides of the border dispute, and what, if any, alternate solutions should have been implemented.
