Does the Lewis & Clark expedition represent Manifest Destiny?

Students will need to divide into groups of 2.  Each pair will represent one juror and one vote when convening for deliberation.  The pairs will need to have decided on a yes or no answer and a short explanation of their decision to present during the deliberation.  Each pair will go through the 5 day investigation completing the tasks one day at a time.  There are investigative tasks for each day that require the juror to gather as much relevant information as possible to make an informed decision. 

Students will also need a notebook to build a picture dictionary of new vocabulary words.  The students will need old magazines to cut out pictures that represent the meanings of the vocabulary words.

At the end of Day 5, the class will convene for deliberation and cast their votes to decide if the expedition represents Manifest Destiny.
