Substance Abuse

Now it is time to explore and learn about the different types of drugs used on a daily basis  by individuals. This is design for you to know and to learn about the effect or impact that these substance can have on the body. This, information and activities that well be done by the students will prepare them fully in educating others about substance abuse and the effects of it.

1.   From a power point presentation students and lecturer will engage in a discussion about the different types of drugs used.
   

     2. Students will  be placed in groups according to the different types of drugs. From the different groups
           identified students will present a role play  to demonstrate their understanding  in a creative way.


    3.  Betty is a  15 year old girl who believes that consuming alcohol and other substances will calm
          her nerves and will assist her in achieving her goals. From the scenario,  students will be ask to
          educate Betty about the causes and effects the drugs can have on her body.

    4. Who am i? Students will be place in groups  such as Stimulants, Depressants, Inhalants etc. students
          will state examples and what is each group consist of.

   5. Students will be engage in a game of Substance amingle, where students will be given examples
       of each group. the lecturer will asked all the stimulants to go together. This activity will identify
       students who understand the classification of Substance abuse or not. if  students do not understand  
       they will be asked to do further reading fro the next class.
