Substance abuse by people today can be classified as drugs and alcohol. These drugs are said to be used for varied and complex reasons. However, it is clear that society pays a significant cost for its usage. The effect for the abuse of drugs can be seen in our hospitals and emergency departments through direct damage to health and its association to physical trauma. Undoubtedly, jails and prisons cells mark on a daily basis the strong relationship between crime and drug dependence and abuse. Even though, use of some drugs have declined, use of other drugs has increased on the market. This therefore, gives the evident that drug use is not to be ignored. Hence, there is still a role to play to educate students on the implication of using substances in their everyday life.
