In your group of 4 students, each one of you will take a section to study.

Student #1    Overview: For the overview section, the student will watch the video Checking 101 and write a written summary of the content to share with the other students explaining the information contained in the video.

Student #2   Paper Checks: This section is an online article that will also need to be summarized and the summary shared with the group.

Student #3     How to write a check: The student in charge of this section will go through the Power Point slides and learn how to write a check. The student will then teach the rest of the group how to write a check and all students will use the interactive website to practice their check writing skills. Use the narrative to write your checks and screen shot them to turn in at the end.

Instructions for screenshot: after signing the check on interactive website, press alt key and print screen key at the same time. This will copy the page. Go to your email. Compose a new message. In the message press the ctrl key and v key to paste.

Student #4    How to create a check ledger in Excel: The fourth student will watch the video on creating a check ledger in Excel. That student will explain the process to the rest of the group and each will practice adding a ledger entry. Use the narrative for your ledger entries.

Once everyone understands all the parts of check writing and all the ledger entries are made, work together as a group to reconcile the check ledger with the bank statement and look for mistakes.
