Colonizing Mars

As scientist continue to explore the planet Mars remotely through satellites and robotic vehicles, the question that is always asked is "When are we going to send humans to Mars?"  This topic has far reaching impacts regarding sustainability of human life on Earth, scarcity of natural resources, alternative sources of energy, and the limits and possibilities of our technology.
