World War II was a conflict that consumed the entire world.  Over 60 million people died due to the war, between the time Germany invaded Poland and the time Japan surrendered aboard the battleship Missouri.

In warfare, a theater, or theater of war or seat of war is defined as a specific geographical area of conduct of armed conflict, bordered by areas where no combat is taking place.  During World War II, the United States fought in two theaters:  The European and the The Pacific.

For this project, the class will break into groups that will learn about the US involvement in the Pacific Theater of World War II.

Students will learn about military leaders in the Pacific Theater, the attack on Pearl Harbor, major battles in the Pacific Theater, and use of atomic bombs on Japan.
