The Scientific Method

Introduction

How do scientists solve problems? How do they know what they have discovered from their experiments is true and not some kind of coincidence?

The foundation for all science lies in the scientific method. This is a process all scientists use, and although they may call the steps something a little different, the basic idea is the same.
By using an organized and logical method to test a hypothesis, scientists can agree that the data from the experiment is true or valid. Besides the steps in the process, there are many other factors to consider when designing an experiment and thinking about science in general.
