Fellow Brothers and Historians:

It is my hope that the chapter historians continue the expansion of documenting the work of Alpha Ohio. This web quest site will complement our cyber-office at http://sites.google.com/site/apadohp/home.

By completing this webquest exercise, the learner ought to gain a greater understanding of who some of the past district directors and their assistants are from Ohio.  With this knowledge, it will prepare you going forward to document the leadership that represents your chapter, whether alumni or college.  As lay historians, it is important to recognize that your data may better serve the fraternity at large in the not too distant future.  You will be able to share and network with other leadership on the prominent men of Alpha Ohio.

Knowing what you now know about their important role, it is clear that you will understand better what part of your chapters history influences regional and national engagement, and then begin promoting your chapters fraternal influence following that timeline. For college and alumni men, you will find that your memories will fade, and factual detail on  names, dates, and roles during your officership may become lost or  missing.

That is why it is important to keep track of  your chapters records and make appropriate notes, as you documenting events and photos.

  • If you find that there is missing information, continue your research and revisit the site to see what additions have been made to the matrix.

I look forward to working with you during this term as we provide more on the Alpha Spirit that is O-hi-O!

Fraternally,

s/ Bro. Victor Smith, ARL

2013-2014 Ohio District Historian
