Chapter historians and or reporters will analyze the role of the District Director of Ohio's role and that of the Assistant District Director. The title of the lead state historian officer is important to college and alumni fraternal history. Historians and or reporters will create their own district report of brothers holding this role from their local chapter to complete a district matrix.

  • Please see the PROCESS Tab FOR INSTRUCTIONS.
  • Chapter historians are responsible for retrieving and checking their archives for any former members representing the District of Ohio.

In the past, directors were formerly known as State Directors. These officers served in the capacity we recognize currently in the term "area directors." Today, the District Director has a broader administration, wherein the area directors, for the Northeast, Northwest, Central Ohio-1, Central Ohio-2, and Southwest Ohio report.

The district director is the signing authority where in chapter operational activities include oversight over membership, as well as fiscal and other administrative reporting to the elected Midwestern Regional Vice-President and his Assistant Vice-President. The district director processes activities of both the alumni and college chapters in the State of Ohio.  The assistant district director serves as an liaison for the college chapters; college chapters  are expected to use him as a resource.

District directors are elected by delegated representatives from the various local chapters.  All district officers serve at the pleasure of the district director by appointment.

IMPORTANT FACT:  What class of brothers was responsible for hosting the district conventions, prior to 1980?

Answer:  College brothers were considered the hosts who actually facilitated the event from their respective college campus.  Alumni brothers were invited as guests to participate in the activities the President of the District (now known as the Assistant District Director) called.
