Does your Journalism website need sprucing up? Do you struggle to stay current or even just barely up to date? This webquest puts the responsibility for your Journalism site into your students' hands! They will be charged to create an action plan based on their research on award-winning school journalism websites and the application of the elements of effective web design.

Standards

Utah Core Standard W6: Use technology, including the Internet, to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing products, taking advantage of technology’s capacity to link to other information and to display information flexibly and dynamically.

Students will analyze content, design, features, and social media across multiple platforms and devise a plan of action to improve their own web presence using their research and the elements of effective web design.

Credits

SNO (School Newspapers Online) for their fantastic collection of award-winning school journalism websites.
SchoolJournalism.org for their social media resources
