This WebQuest breaks the myth that the Holocaust could never happen again. Many students are plagued by the belief that the Holocaust was a one time deal and are comforted by this lie. It is important for children to know the reality of the world and this webquest attempts to broaden the minds of students by showing them the reality of genocide and that it can happen today. If students can understand that genocide is much more common than they have believed than they can be brought to movement and bring upon change. It is my hope that students will be more interested in learning about the Holocaust from a more active standpoint after completing this webquest. This webquest would take 1-3 days depending on the students ability and access to computers and is started with the teacher's assistance in completing a stem connection. Most students in this grade have heard of the Holocaust and already have their own beliefs about it so this is an interesting way to help students challenge their own beliefs. I truly think this webquest will be beneficial to students as they are challenged to expand the knowledge that they have, make connections to their own life, and bring this information back to the classroom.

Other

The webquest provides internet safety for students as the links are all approved sites that I have previously been to and explored. This activity also provides for a ton of differentiated instruction through hands-on help from the teacher, videos, interactive journals, reading from a book, writing in a journal, collaboration with peers, and discussing as a group.
