My name is Ryan McLaughlin. I have a bachelor's degree in History from Rutgers University and am currently pursuing a K-12 teaching certificate for Social Studies. My favorite aspect of history is the 20th century advancement of America into the international  spotlight of both industry and politics. The point of this Webquest is to get you (the student) to understand that the current policies regarding containment of terrorism in the Middle East are relics of Presidents from almost 80 years ago. It is important to understand that "history is, not was," and by completing this Webquest, you will be able to make that connection on your own. The skills in this Webquest will stay with you all of your life, and you will be thankful that you did this when discussing politics and world views with both your co-workers and your friends.

Standards

The following are the two Core Curriculum Content Standards for Social Studies addressed in the Webquest.

The following are the inter-disciplinary standards used in the Webquest.
