The Three Branches of Government

This webquest is broken into 3 Task (Introduction, During, and Conclusion Activites).

 Most of these activities incorperate cooperative learning.

Introduction- Takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

During Activitiy- 45 to 55 minutes. Students will be broken into groups.

Conclusion Activity- 15 to 25 minutes.  Students remain in groups for this activity.

Standards

Objectives:

Describe the three branches of government at the local level. (MSSS Grade 3, 1a DOK 1)

Explain how and why the local government makes laws, carries out laws, determines whether laws have been violated, and determines consequences for those who break the laws. (MSSS Grade 3, 1b DOK 2)
