Are you ready? I sure hope so because now it is time to get started. Let's begin with task one.

1. First we are going to combine task one and two. It is time to complete the worksheet. You have a worksheet that has been given to you that has multiple questions about the American flag. If you need another copy, there is a link to Word so that you can print out a copy for yourself. It will be wise to first read over your worksheet to know what type of information you will be looking for since there is a lot of information on each of the sources provided.  Read the questions first then read the articles.

2. Next, it's time for you to write a letter. We have been learning about how to write letters in the correct format so today you will use that knowledge to let me know all about the American flag. Don't forget to sign your name at the bottom or put the date at the top! I am so interested in the new year 2016, I don't ever want to forget this! I'll keep your letters so I can always remember all these facts about the great American flag. The website below will help you remember the format of a letter. However, you will need to decide what type of letter to use whether it is formal, informal, thank you letter, or other types you have learned. This website will help you decide for sure.

3. Now it's time for you to make your flag. You and a partner will have a large sheet of paper so that you will have plenty of room to make your creation. Remember, you can use any type of design that you want but it has to include these following things:

50 Stars
13 stripes (7 red, 6 white)
Blue
One other symbol that you think is important for this country. On the back of your flag, please write the symbol you are using and tell me about the symbol in 3-4 sentences. I would like to know what it is and why you think it is an important representation for this country.

BE CREATIVE!!
