The New USDA Food Plate

Students-

To insure the completion of your tasks, follow these steps:

1.     Explore the official USDA Website. The link is provided below.

2.    Explore the Let�s Move Campaign Website. The link is provided below.

3.    Use a graphic organizer to complete your chart. Be sure to include 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for each day.

4.    Read The Food Plate and Special Needs. Explain at the bottom of your chart how food substitutions could be made for people with special food needs.

5.    Paper plates will be provided. Use the internet, magazines, food boxes, or other resources to cut and glue images to your plate.  Be creative!

6.    Complete your essay. Be sure to have proper citations for copied information. Use a reference page, if necessary.
