First

  1. Assign roles to the members of your department: time keeper, recorder, researcher, technician
  2. Go to FirstClass and look in Dekalb Discussions.
  3. Locate the teaching and learning link and click.
  4. Locate the TeacherTool Box link and click.
  5. Read the TeacherTool box section on Integrating technology within the classroom.  Pay close attention to the section marked WebQuest.
  6. Click on the link below and read the article on Ninth Grade Academy.

Second

  1. Use www.zunal.com to create an account.
  2. Use this account to create a WebQuest.
  3. The WebQuest should include an Introduction, Task, Process, Evaluation and Conclusion.

Third

  1. Locate the Ninth Grade Academy icon on your FirstClass Desktop.
  2. In this icon you will locate all the documents that are used to govern the Ninth Grade Academy and CHS.
  3. As you create the WebQuest remember it should help students, parents, faculty and staff, district personnel, and other stakeholders become familiar with:
  • The research behind the need for a Ninth Grade Academy
  • The mission of the Ninth Grade Academy (NGA) at Columbia High School (CHS)
  • The Grading Policy
  • The Redo Policy
  • The Homework Policy
  • The Tutorial Schedule for your department
  • The Failure Contract
  • The Discipline Policy
  • The Attendance Policy
  • The Hallway Policy

Finally

Submission of the WebQuest should be done by firstclass by the close of business on December 12, 2011. In the body of the email please list the names and roles of each member of your department (ie: Reporter- Jonathan Woods)
