The Pennsylvania Jameses
James Buchanan became our 15th president. Review the primary sources found under resources. Fill out the NARA forms. You will need to fill out a form for each source you review. You must review at least one poster, one political cartoon, one Photo and one song for this activity. You may use the photo on this page also. While review these sources, keep this question in mind. Would I vote for this man based on what I see.
Use the Venn-diagram to comapare an election poster to a photo of Buchanan. Use your finding to help you answer the question "Would I vote for this man?"
Interesting fact: Buchanan's sister was married to the brother of Stephen Foster. Foster was a strong supporter of Buchanan and wrote Buchanan's election songs.
