Characterization

How would you answer if someone asked you to describe the person that you usually sit next to in class?

Most likely you would say a little bit about what he/she looks like, what kind of a student he/she is, and what sort of a person he/she is (how  they act or treat others). Perhaps, you would also talk about the sports that they are good at or other abilities that the person may have.

Authors do the same thing when they are creating characters for their stories. As you work your way through this webquest, you will learn how to CHARACTERIZE the different characters within a story. You will also learn vocabulary specific to the task of CHARACTERIZATION.
