Welcome: immigration and urbanization, 1865-1900
Description: Industrialization, Urbanization, and Immigration are very important facets of American History from 1865-1900. The population shift to the cities and the corruption present there is mirrored in the way the Federal Government was operating at the same time. The attempt to clean up politics led to a struggle between the Democrats and Republicans. Later, farmers attempted to come together to speak out against governmental concerns with the cities. At the same time, race relations were still very much on the minds of Americans as Reconstruction failed and segregation rose in prominence nation-wide.
