Description: The efficient and timely assessment of the abdomen is critical in the colorectal oncology patient population. It is a competency that must be mastered by the medical-surgical staff registered nurse responsible for the care of these patients. This webquest will review and reinforce the correct procedure for the abdominal assessment, in addition to reviewing some of the signs associated with various gastrointestinal abnormalities.
