The Origins of Halloween

This WebQuest has been created for students from 9th to 12th grade, learning English as a Second Language. 

 

Standards

For this task, the standards of evaluation are:

Working in group to successfully complete the task.
Understanding the plan, process and objectives of the task.
Reading and understanding a text in the target language.
Watching and understanding a video in the target language.
Answering a set of questions related to the text previously read.
Answering a set of questions related to the video previously watched.
Using the imagination to complete the task.
Reading about and understanding different cultures.
Including different aspects of different cultures into a project.
Respecting the order of the phases and tasks that was established by the educator.
Respecting the time dedicated for every part of the project, established by the educator .
Writing a text with the grammar and vocabulary suitable to complete the project successfully.
Learning new vocabulary about Halloween and using it when redacting a text.
Explaining the project orally as a group in front of the other students.
Debating on which project was the group's favourite one and why.
