Introduction to Argumentative Essay: Collaborative Writing

This Webquest is addressed to English major students of Essay Writing Class. Through this Webquest they will learn argumentative essay starting from the very fundamental concepts till they can make one product of argumentative essay. The learning activities are designed in four steps in which the steps are estimated to complete in three meetings.

The target users of this Webquest are third semester students of English Department who are fulfilling essay writing course. Students are obligated to follow this WebQuest especially in the process part consisting of four steps in order to complete summary, analyses, and product of argumentative essay. All the steps are undertaken in group. The three submitted projects are assessed using respective rubrics presented in the evaluation part of this Webquest. During the process of the four steps, the lecture’s consultation is available.

Standards

The learning topic and activities in this Webquest are based upon syllabus of English Letter Department of State Islamic University of Malang 2018. It is stated in the syllabus that capaian pembelajaran (the learning goal) is that students are able to compose short expository and argumentive essay in 250 words using appropriate writing strategy.
