This WebQuest was created to inform students of the Holocaust and how Anne Frank and her writings made such an impact on society and humanity.  Students will be able to relate better to the events as they unfolded in Anne and her families lives.  The WebQuest is an introduction and will be completed as the class reads the play, "The Diary of Anne Frank".  Students will be broken into groups of 4-5 and it will take 2-3 weeks to complete this lesson.  Critical thinking, collaborative learning and creative writing skills will all be need to complete the tasks of this WebQuest.  Students will be able to utilize peer discussions within their groups, recognize the causes of the Holocaust and why Anne Frank still makes an impact on the world today.

The Tasks that are to be completed are technologically driven with Word it out, Near pod and viewing a video on teacher.  As the students gain their information they will then be able to apply it to the creative writing aspect of the project which is the journal/ diary their groups will create!!

Evaluation:

Students will be graded on each part of the project as per the rubric and notated points for each portion.  The other parts will be graded  as a group is the Word it out and the journal.  The other parts of the project are to be submitted to me via email or electronic submission.

I hope that you have found my Web Quest useful and interesting!!! Teaching about Anne Frank is one of my favorite units to teach and I think that students would really love learning about her and her incredible story!!
