This lesson is culturally appropriate and serves as an applicable lesson for multi-cutural learning in that it meets the following criteria:

1. Cultural awareness is an acknowledgement of cultural and individual differences through implementation of instructional and learning activities that support varied learning preferences, multiple intelligences, and native languages. (The lesson allows for students to receive the material via technology, handouts and audio, thus appeasing multiple learning preferences and styles)


Cultural relevance is achieved through culturally congruent and culturally relevant learning activities. (Students are given an opportunity to achieve proper instruction on writing a thesis which is typically relevant for all scholars regardless of cultural background)


Culturally supportive environments are safe and inclusive and integrate the learner's culture, family, and community.(This assignment allows for students to interact with peers, family members and even community members through their investigative study of developing and drafting a thesis)


Equitable access provides learners with access to technology in ways that best meets their needs.(Ensuring to review the material in class, allows for students who do not have access to computers at home the opportunity to undergo the same learning as those who do.)


Instructional flexibility is the use of varied modes of delivery and assessment that harmonize with the learners' strengths and preferences. (Students are given the opportunity to submit their homework via email or hardcopy thus allowing for the learners preference and strength to guide their submission.)


Instructional integration is an acknowledgement of technology as an essential tool for learning and teaching. (Reviewing this web quest as well as the online technical resources allows for the classroom to integrate technology and utilize it as a effective tool in learning.

12.W.09 - I can use textual evidence to support analysis, reflection, and research of literary or informational texts.
