A Polygonally Adventure

This web-quest is about taking students on a Polygon Adventure.

They will be addressed as Polygon Pioneers.

This web quests enables students to have online access to a wide variety of different and fun resources that will help them along their journey. 

It focuses on classifying polygons under various headings, drawing/constructing polygons for themselves

This webquest addresses the different learning styles in the classroom. There is a little something for everybody. Visual learners are engaged in a game where they have to use their eyes to locate objects. Auditory learners are given the opportunity to watch videos pertaining to polygons so as to further their understanding. Kinesthetic learners get to experience hands - on activities  where they get to make a model using polygons. 

Standards

This web-quest utilizes elements from the  National Standards Curriculum (NSC). 

The appropriate grade level for this web-quest is Grade 7-9.

The goal of the new Curriculum is to improve the general academic performance, attitude and behaviour of students, which will redound to the positive shaping of the national social and economic fabric. Emphasis is placed on project-based and problem-solving learning, with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics/ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEM/STEAM) integrated at all levels.
The approaches will allow the learners to have hands-on experiences that are similar to real-world situations, making the learning experience less abstract and more concrete.

To my friends, Shanice, Ketara and Shevanese a great big thanks to you all,as you propelled me to create my web-quest with zest and passion, helped me to choose the right pictures and guided me with the proper instructions necessary to complete the task.

To Mrs. Delphine Williams-Young, great appreciation is extended to you, as you taught me how to create my web-quest, taking me through all the steps and ensuring that I had the right knowledge to complete it. You also answered all questions asked in relation to the web-quest so that all misconceptions were clarified.

Other

Teachers should engage their students in using web-quests in their everyday learning environment so that learning can be transformed from  the classroom to an online platform.

This will give the students a chance to develop skills that are attached with technology. Technology is also very useful for making learning fun and engaging. As a result of this, learning can be better facilitated.
