Thank you for continuing the Polygonally journey with me!

Now, let's take a closer look at how you will be working with polygons.  By the end of this web quest, you will have accomplished all the knowledge that you are required to know about polygons such as how to identify and draw them as well as how to classify them in different categories. This acquired knowledge will enable you to become a Polygon Pioneer capable  enough of  teaching others what you have learnt.

Upon successful completion of this web quest, you should be able to complete the following:

List

  1. Define correctly the term 'polygon'
  2. Classify polygons in terms of their number of sides
  3. Draw and cut - out polygons with different sides
  4. Categorize polygons as regular or regular, simple or complex and concave or convex

Learning goals:

- Students will be able to formulate their own definition of the term 'polygons'

- Students should be able to count the number of sides each polygon has and associate them with their correct terminologies

- As a group activity, pupils will draw and cut - out at least four (4) polygons and label them with their appropriate names

- Students will classify polygons under their respective headings, for e.g.: regular or irregular and concave or convex in their respective groups.

Presentation of information

Students should formulate their own definition of 'polygon.'

Students should present a  concept map or a  polygon graphic organizer using Frayer's Model about polygons.

Using Microsoft Word, construct  appropriate tables to show the different ways in which polygons may be categorized.

Make a PowerPoint presentation about what you have learnt about polygons. Be sure to include places in your environment/surroundings where you can locate polygons.

Students should create a model using at least ten (10) polygons.
