Hi Teachers/Parents/Guardians/Students:

This webquest has been designed to help educate students on what a compass rose is, and how a compass rose can be used to give direction by use of  the cardinal directions. I have designed it to take approximately 30- 60 min. over a 4 day stretch of time. If you don't have that sort of time, please take a peak anyways, I believe each activity could be shortened or some could be skipped, and this webquest still be useful and fun for your students. I hope you all have as much fun using it, as I did creating it!

Standards

The National Standard used for this webquest was Social Studies: People, Places, and Environments. The state standard was: Social Studies, Knowledge of major elements of geographical study and analysis and their relationship to changes in society and the environment, Grade 1, Use a compass rose to identify cardinal directions (1.10), Depth of Knowledge 1.
