There actually is an entire science dedicated to measurement and comparison of measurements of the human body.  This science is called Anthropometry, and the data collected are called anthropometric data.  A good starting point for further research includes the website, Human Factors: Anthropometric Data.

Discussion of body measurements may lead to the image of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man.  Please note da Vinci's drawings are detailed sketches of the human anatomy; preview of the images might be warranted for younger audiences or the squeamish.
