several links and choices for deeper understanding.

Standards

Students will learn about a time in Puritan Massachusetts, where there was much prejudice and fear, which resulted in the witch trials. Students will be able to make the connection between history and literature, and use their critical thinking skills and their creative thought processes to fulfill the teacher�s learning objectives.

Students will be able to discuss other works of Hawthorne and compare them with other authors in this genre.
