Let's Explore the Instruments of the Weather

This webquest is a third grade lesson on weather instruments. This webquest can take one day for about an hour to complete, but it can be expanded to over a week with additional explanation on each weather instruments with an activity to go along as well. Allowing students to become little scientist is what this webquest is best used for. Students will be able to learn on their own with specific direct instructions given by the teacher. Students will learn more because it is hands on with little help from the teacher. The students will be able to figure out how the weather instruments are used as well as creating their own versions of weather instruments to practice with. Students will be more engaged in learning due to the hands on experience.

Standards

Teaching third grade, using the third grade Earth and Space Science, 4C: Gather and display local weather information such as temperature, precipitation, clouds, etc., on graphs and use graphs of weather patterns to predict weather conditions.
