Medieval Quest

You will "time travel"  in groups of three or four.  You will sign up for a region and the quest mistress will assign the teams.  Your team will use the questions that are provided in this web quest to investigate the historic events, geography/climate, government, power struggles,  trade, religion, social structure, and culture of the society that you choose in terms of its strengths and weaknesses.  You will each write a section of a team paper that answers all of the question in the next section.  Individually or as a group you will also present a presentation to the class in which you apply something that you learned about your region to a modern day struggle, conflict or problem (post 1900).  The following are possibilities, but your team can ask for permission to use an idea of your own.  Your team could compare or contrast: the influenza of 1918 to the Bubonic plague, a modern military conflict to one from the Middle Ages, or compare an authoritarian government or theocracy from the Middle Ages to a modern one.
